Softball isn't the same - here's why - its either big home runs, fly balls, or ground outs, with little in between. This is due to the shape of the ball, being less conducive to hitting - 'straight on' than a baseball is. Now - here's another reason why softball sucks - the people: People who like softball are a mix of the athletic and 'baseball-starved', and the nonathletic and 'sports-starved'. Girls born in 2006, enjoy a team environment and learning new skills should consider playing on this new U12B team. Our goals for the season are to develop softball skills in a safe and fun environment so we can compete in the Softball BC provincial championship in Richmond. Our winter training is just beginning so if you are interested there is time to train and be prepared for the up-coming summer ball season. Want to play at a higher level of Competition and learn new skills in a fun environment? Our goal is to provide a positive, supportive environment for players of higher level of ability and commitment to develop their skills and passion for the game. Cost for this team is only $350 for the season. Through fundraising the team pays for the girls travel and accommodations for tournaments in Vancouver. For more info please contact: Ian Kellow!SOMETHING NEW FOR U10! With recent discussion with many of you, I’ve decided to create a Mid Island Supemites U10 team for our region. This is intended for more competitive players and families obligated to travel expenses to play in these tournaments, we will also perusing sponsorship and fundraising to help with these expenses.
We will also be looking for parent involvement with team manager, assistant coaches and fundraising. This team will consist of 12, u10 girls to compete in four tournaments in the lower mainland, Cloverdale April 13-15, Ridge Meadows May 25-27, Richmond June 8-10, and Burnaby June 30- July 2. Players would play for there regular teams throughout the season and get together for practices and tournaments, practices would take place at Ladysmith and Parksville to accommodate players regions.
