There has been no official word but the speculation on a single transponder being used to offer the same lineup as FreeviewHD would make the use of DVB-S2 logical simply as it provides more usable bandwidth and supported by the two big players in the market. If there are any DVB-S HD channels being broadcast then yes you can still watch them using a DVB-S receiver but that would be just LuxeHD unless you went further afield for non-uk specific channels.

All of the above only applies to PC based tuners or quite old satellite boxes, no UK television with a HD satellite tuner built in or FreesatHD/SKYHD box will have any problems. Host checker not installed properly.
